Cosmos Senyo Wemegah is an Assistant Research Fellow with the Earth Observation Research and Innovation Centre (EORIC), a research arm of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana. Cosmos holds an MPhil in Meteorology and Climate Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. Cosmos is an interdisciplinary climate scientist who is particularly interested in understanding the processes that influence the earth’s climate systems, the drivers of weather/climate extremes across different climatic zones and the associated changes in extreme weather/climate events with changing climate and environmental modification. His research works employ remote sensing and numerical simulations to understand the processes and mechanisms involved in these changes. Cosmos’ research goal is to develop research that will heighten the understanding of climate change and high impact weather events such as floods, droughts and heatwaves amidst environmental modification to improve decision making and policies for mitigation and adaptation and provide sustainable solutions to weather-related health problems.
