Mr. Evans Akpene Yaw Adom is currently a Technician (Global VSAT Forum certified Satellite Operation Centre and Teleport Technician) at the Earth Observation Research and Innovation Center. He has a passion for Space Science Technology and Innovation. He has over 12 years of experience in the Satellite Industry as a Satellite TV installer and VSAT field technician. He has installed hundreds of satellite TV and over 300 Satellite (VSAT) internet and still counting for homes and organizations across Ghana. With his experience, he has mentored and trained individuals especially, the youth who are interested in satellite TV and VSAT installations. He holds several professional certificates from the Global VSAT Forum (GVF), an internationally recognized certification by all the major players in the Satellite Industry globally. He designed and was the lead facilitator of the SATCOM Professional Certificate Short Course and Understanding DVBS2, DVBT2 & DVB-H in Satellite Technology training program. He also proposed and coordinated the organization of the Satellite Technology Innovation (STI) Summit. He is one of the key technical person responsible for the installation and operations of the Satellite Ground Stations installed for data acquisition at the centre. His area of specialisation is Satellite Ground System Engineering and Space Technology in general. He did a poster presentation during the joint EUMETSAT ROM SAF User Workshop and IROWG Workshop in September 2019 in Denmark.
