(held on the 22nd -24th March 2016 on UENR Campus)
The satellite technology and tracking training program was organized by the Earth Observation Research and Innovation Centre (EORIC) at the University of Energy and Natural Resources. The training was facilitated by Mr. Evans Yaw Adom and Mr. Samuel Amoako-Frimpong. It was a three-day program aimed at training students and workers to have a comprehensive understanding of the genesis of Artificial Satellites, their benefits to society, their differences and how to track and obtain relevant data from each of them. The training also provided a practical dish installation. The opening speech was given by Dr. Amos T. Kabo-Bah, the acting head of EORIC. He challenged the participants to use the training program as an eye-opener into the satellite world since satellite technology is not only about satellite television but can be used for so many things that will benefit society. He gave an instance where the Centre is using satellite to do so many things.
