Senior Research Fellow

Ing. Dr. Martin Domfeh is a Senior Research Fellow at the Earth Observation Research and Innovation Centre (EORIC) within the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Sunyani, Ghana. He leads the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modelling and High-Performance Computing Section, where he coordinates advanced research efforts in numerical simulation and modeling.
In addition to his administrative roles, Dr. Domfeh is actively involved in teaching and training programs, facilitating short courses in CFD and instructing various undergraduate programs. He supervises and teaches students across multiple engineering disciplines, including Civil and Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, and Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. His postgraduate teaching is conducted under the auspices of the Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES) Programme at UENR.
Dr. Domfeh holds a BSc in Civil Engineering, an MSc in Water Resources Engineering and Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and a Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Management from UENR. He is a Commonwealth Scholar and has gained international experience through a one-year split-site research initiative in CFD at the University of Exeter, UK.
He has played a pivotal role in securing funding for high-impact projects, including a GHc245,000 Skill Development Fund initiative aimed at developing an Advanced Fire Information System for agricultural stakeholders. Furthermore, he contributed to the GHS 2 million SATCOM GSDF Project, which focuses on establishing a Professional SATCOM Certification Course tailored for engineers, technicians, and entrepreneurs in the satellite communication and telecommunication sectors in Ghana. Dr. Domfeh has also been instrumental in managing several ground station projects at EORIC
He has approximately 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research encompasses a variety of domains, including CFD, Hydropower Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, GIS and Remote Sensing, Renewable Energy Engineering, Machine Learning, and Environmental Engineering.
